Goshen is a home rule-class city in Oldham County, Kentucky, in the United States. The population was 907 at the 2000 census.

Founded in 1849, the community was first known as Saltillo for the Mexican city near the 1847 Battle of Buena Vista during the Mexican–American War. When a new post office opened in 1851, it was named Goshen for the biblical Land of Goshen, which was described by American commentators as having had good soil.[3] It was formally incorporated by the state assembly in 1990.[4]

As of the census[6] of 2000, there were 907 people, 288 households, and 254 families residing in the city. The population density was 4,655.8 people per square mile (1,843.1/km²). There were 293 housing units at an average density of 1,504.0 per square mile (595.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.79% White, 0.66% African American, 0.11% Native American, 0.11% Asian, 0.11% from other races, and 1.21% from two or more races.
