If the program is online it can also receive accreditation from the Distance Education and Training Council, which focuses on distance or online education. All accrediting organizations should be acknowledged by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation. It also corroborates that their graduates are well regarded and in demand.

Where is the College Located? For many students, the school they choose will need to be within driving distance of their Shabbona IL residence. Students who have opted to attend classes online naturally will not have to trouble themselves with the location of the campus. However, the availability of area internships will be of concern. One thing to consider is that if you choose to enroll in a school that is out of state or even out of your local area, you might have to pay a higher tuition. State colleges usually charge higher tuitions for out of state residents. And community colleges frequently charge a higher tuition for those students that don’t reside within their districts.

How Big are the Classes ? Unless you are the kind of person that prefers to sit way in the back of class or hide in the crowd, you will likely prefer a small class size. Smaller classes permit more individual participation and personalized instruction. Ask the Shabbona IL colleges you are reviewing what the average teacher to student ratio is for their classrooms. If practical you may want to sit in on one or more classes before making your final decision. This will also give you a chance to converse with a few of the students and instructors to get their opinions regarding the x-ray technician program as well.

This is particularly important if you decide to continue working while you attend school. If you must schedule evening or weekend classes in Shabbona IL, confirm that they are available. Also, find out what the procedure is for making up any classes that you may miss as a result of work, illness or family obligations.
