You will also have to decide if you want to attend online classes or travel to a nearby campus. If you opt for the latter, then naturally the location of the school will be important. The price of tuition and secondary expenditures will be a material factor as well. But in addition to location and cost, what else should you look at when reviewing schools? Well, you should check out if the colleges are accredited, and if they sponsor externship or internship programs. To help you uncover some of these essential details before you make your selection, we have compiled a list of questions that you should ask the programs you are reviewing.

Are the Radiology Technician Programs Accredited? Most radiology tech schools have acquired some type of accreditation, whether national or regional. Nevertheless, it’s still important to confirm that the program and school are accredited. Among the most highly respected accrediting organizations in the field of radiology is the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Programs receiving accreditation from the JRCERT have undergone an extensive examination of their instructors and course materials. If the program is online it can also earn accreditation from the Distance Education and Training Council, which targets online or distance learning. All accrediting organizations should be acknowledged by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation. Along with ensuring a superior education, accreditation will also assist in securing financial aid and student loans, which are often not available for non-accredited schools. Accreditation may also be a pre-requisite for certification and licensing as required. And many Kiel WI employers will only hire a graduate of an accredited college for entry-level openings.

Are Internships Provided? Inquire if the Wisconsin xray technician colleges you are reviewing have relationships with regional clinics or hospitals for internship programs. Internships are not only an excellent means to get practical training in a clinical environment, they are additionally a means to satisfy the clinical training requirement for most programs. As an ancillary benefit, they can help students and graduates develop professional connections in the Kiel WI health care community and assist with obtaining employment.

Is Job Placement Assistance provided? You will undoubtedly wish to hit the ground running after graduating, but finding that first job in a new profession can be challenging without assistance. High and rapid placement rates are a good indication that the schools have sizable networks and good relationships with Kiel WI healthcare employers. It also confirms that their students are highly regarded and in demand.

Where is the School Located? For a number of students, the college they decide on will need to be within travelling distance of their Kiel WI home. Those who have decided to attend classes online naturally will not have to worry themselves with the location of the campus. However, the availability of area internships will be of concern. Something to consider is that if you choose to enroll in a program that is out of state or perhaps out of your local area, you might be required to pay a higher tuition. State colleges commonly charge higher tuitions for out of state residents. And community colleges frequently charge a higher tuition to those students that don’t reside within their districts.

What are the Class Sizes ? Unless you are the sort of student that likes to sit way in the back of class or hide in the crowd, you will probably want a smaller class size. Smaller classes allow for more individual participation and personalized instruction. Ask the Kiel WI colleges you are researching what the typical student to teacher ratio is for their classes. If practical you may want to monitor one or more classes before making your final determination. This will also give you a chance to converse with several of the instructors and students to get their perspectives regarding the radiology tech program also.

Does the School Accommodate your Schedule? And finally you must verify that the x-ray tech  school you finally pick can furnish the class schedule you need. This is especially essential if you opt to continue working while attending school. If you must schedule night or weekend classes in Kiel WI, make sure that they are offered. If you can only attend part-time, find out if that is an alternative and how many credit hours or courses you would have to enroll in. Also, find out what the procedure is for making up any classes that you might miss as a result of work, illness or family obligations.

Some Background on Kiel Wisconsin

Kiel, Wisconsin

Kiel is a city in Calumet and Manitowoc counties in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 3,738 at the 2010 census. Of this, 3,429 residents lived in Manitowoc County, and 309 residents lived in Calumet County. The city is located primarily within Manitowoc County, though a portion extends west into adjacent Calumet County and is known as "Hinzeville".[6]

It was once known as the Wooden Shoes Capital of Wisconsin as it held the only wooden shoes factory in Wisconsin.[7]

Charley Lindemann immigrated to the area and began a settlement among the Native American Menominee and Potawatomi tribes.[8] His wife named the community after her home town of Kiel, Germany.[8] Two years later, Col. Henry F. Belitz, later nicknamed the "Father of Kiel", built a hotel and mill along the north side of the Sheboygan River.[8] A road was built across Wisconsin to connect Green Bay with Milwaukee area communities.[8] The bridge was built across the Sheboygan River in 1858 connecting Kiel with Sheboygan.[8] In the late nineteenth century to the early twentieth century, Kiel became a manufacturing area with businesses specializing in brick, wood shoes, machine, and furniture manufacturing.[8]

A book called "Yellowbird" written by Kielite Henry Goeres in the late 1800s recounts - in a blend of fact and fiction - the early history of the settlement in the 1850s when European settlers interacted with Native Americans in the area.[9]

Kiel was incorporated as a village in 1892 and later incorporated as a city.[1]
